Bernadette has been an instructor and lecturer at institutions in the United States and abroad. Educator roles have included:

Bernadette has led and managed arts programs and institutions and has served on their governing boards. Example administrative roles include:

Workshops, Panels and Lectures

Bernadette has participated in workshops and panel discussions, and delivered scores of lectures at educational and cultural institutions nationwide. Notable examples include:

  • Portland Institute of Contemporary Music & Vancouver School of the Arts and Academics
    A one-week residency in association with poet/writer, Thulani Davis. Worked with students through improvisational workshops where they learned to extend and shape their poetry into musical forms culminating in a performance at the school and a public performance with local musicians.

  • American Composers Orchestra, Sonidos de las Americas/Mexico, New York City
    American composer representative at concerts, meetings, discussions at The Juilliard School, Carnegie Hall and various venues in the NY metropolitan area.

  • Zeitgeist, contemporary ensemble, Minneapolis, MN
    Conducted open rehearsals, lectured at Universities of St. Catherine and St. Thomas, interviewed on local radio, and delivered pre-concert talk for premiere performance of commissioned work at the Walker Art Center.
